Special Vestry Notice

Dear Members of St. Stephen,

Notice is hereby given that the St. Stephen the Martyr will hold a Special Vestry Meeting on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. (following the worship) in the Parish Hall.

The Vestry will discuss the financial future of the Parish.

Canon 14 states the following:

“The Vestry of a Parish shall consist of all baptized persons of the age of 16 or over who are accustomed worshippers within the Parish and whose names have been on the Membership Roll of the Parish for at least the 3 months preceding the Vestry Meeting.  No person shall have their name on the Membership roll of more than one Parish in this Diocese at the same time.  Only those members of the Vestry who have within the preceding 12 months provided an identifiable commitment of time, talents or financial resources to this Parish or have been in receipt of the ministrations of the Parish because of illness or other incapacity shall have the right to vote at any Vestry Meeting.”

Please note that as per Diocesan Policy, proxy votes are not allowed.

St. Stephen the Martyr is a multicultural congregation, with members representing several ethnic groups, races and cultures. The congregation gathers for worship at 10 am on Sundays and church festivals, to celebrate Holy Eucharist and engage in Christian formation.
