Rogation Sunday

This Sunday our parish is observing Rogation Sunday and Earth Day.

Rogation Sunday celebrates the planting and sowing season – the opposite of Thanksgiving. The name comes from the Latin word “rogare”, to ask. On this Sunday, we ask God to bless the fields and those who work on them. We also ask for blessings for the whole of creation, tying the celebration together with Earth Day, observed internationally on April 22nd.

Our Sunday morning worship will be held in the parish hall instead of the church sanctuary. We will also have part of our worship outside, weather permitting. Please join us for this special celebration, and bring your friends as well!
